Meet the Bunnies

Jessica Rabbit came to us from NYC where she traveled via Amtrak to the great state of Vermont to join us at MMFS. She is a 1.5 year old Flemish Giant who needed a change of scenery and she was facing an uncertain future in NYC if she got returned to her original owner who would have used her for breeding or potentially used her as a meat rabbit. She was a loved classroom rabbit last year, but her teacher went on maternity leave and her circumstances changed yet again leaving her to live in a smaller area and forming some wounds on her legs. Since she has gotten to MMFS she has had a lot of attention, been to the vet to access her wounds, and we are making plans and trying to find an affordable spay option for her with some of the clinics we work with. Spaying a rabbit is a risky and expensive surgery, but also vital to their long term health. We look forward to her becoming more and more comfortable with the world at MMFS.

Blue is a lovely lop rabbit. He is calm and friendly. He was surrendered to MMFS after his family could no longer care for them after they found out they were allergic to him. We absolutely love his personality and he gets plenty of love and pets at the sanctuary. He is a favorite of the kids in our afterschool program.

Batgirl is a mini Rex rabbit who was surrendered to MMFS in the summer of 2024 with her bonded pair, Jupiter. These two had a loving family who’s home was significantly damaged by the Vermont floods. They needed to find them a new home. Jupiter and Batgirl can often be found cuddling together.

Eddie is a harlequin bunny. He is a good sized boy with beautiful coloring. He has a docile and calm personality, and we love it when he gets comfy and stretches out for his naps. He was surrendered to the sanctuary after his owner had an extreme allergic reaction to him.

Phabio is an Angora bunny whose hair is unbelievably soft. He is social and cuddly. He loves to be held and petting. Keeping up with his coat is no easy feat. Luckily Phabio has a little fan club of volunteers who come several times a week to brush him and remove any mats to keep him looking and feeling good. He is a wonderful ambassador bunny with his friendly personality and is loved by all the kids who meet him.

Jupiter is a holland lop rabbit who was surrendered to MMFS in the summer of 2024 with his bonded pair, Batgirl. These two had a loving family who’s home was significantly damaged by the Vermont floods. They needed to find them a new home. Jupiter and Batgirl can often be found cuddling together.

(passed Nov 2023)
We lost Felix very suddenly in November of 2023 after having him for most of the year of 2023. Felix came from the Humane Society, therefore little is known about his past. He was a cute little white ball of soft fur. He was a shy bunny who loved his little castle shaped hut, munching on hay, and hanging out with his bunny pal, Phabio. We miss his little sweet face at MMFS.
